Krisana Park, Denver, CO
Krisana Park is an Eichler-inspired mid-century modern development built by developer H.B. Wolf in the 1950s.
Described with the moniker “3D-Contemporary”, I believe that some of these homes were even called “3D X-Ray Contemporary” due to the use of floor-to-ceiling vertical windows that allow the passerby a fleeting glimpse deep into the house.
Krisana Park residents throw a yearly home tour, this years theme demonstrated a “green theme”. You do not get more green than preserving older homes, as opposed to scraping existing homes to put up energy inefficient McMansions. Think of all that waste of energy and materials!
I have heard a rumor that Eichler intended to sue, but I do not believe that. These designs, by architect Frenchie Gratts, are not mere imitations of Eichlers homes, but are unique styles of their own, which are shared with a sister division called Lynwood.
There are too many houses in Krisana Park for me to attempt to post pictures of them all. I will update and add additional houses to these pages in the future. Thanks for visiting!
